    Job Description 

    Closely work with other Geospatial Analysts/Human Geographers and community stakeholders and Open Source Libraries to identify and acquire information and sources concerning cultural, socio-economic, political, and topographic activities. Geospatial information form all available sources shall be identified, obtained and exploited to support production. Use GIS technical skills, language skills, and country/regional expertise and experience to collect, analyze, and disseminate human geography content vital to warfighters, first responders and community stakeholders.

    Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 2 years work experience or equivalent experience

    Required Skills and Education 


    Geospatial analysts must have three (3) or more years of demonstrated experience in the human geography / regional/country analysis discipline. Experience in:.
    - Digital cartography, all-source/multi-INT databases, GIS; cartographic and geospatial production technicques, remote sensing, photogrammetry, and digital formats.
    Knowledge of cross-platform intel research tools to include but not limited to: NES; Trident or M3, Palantir, RemoteView, Ciras, Voyager, RAS, Map Service Center Catalog, Coliseum, and Gemini. 
    - Collecting, maintaining, and integrating geospatial data to include human geography data and analysis concerning a region of the world.
    - GeoNames Database, and integrating accepted geographic names and variants into data sets and reports.
    - Research, evaluate, and geospatially enable human geography content for analysis.
    - Leveraging understanding of human geography, regional knowledge, and culture to analysis efforts.
    - Obtaining, exploiting, analyzing, producing and disseminating GEOINT data and products.
    - Creating human geography data from scratch utilizing all available sources of information.
    - Creating source packages for mapping and digital products.
    - Conduct mapping production and assessments (TLMs, feature data, JOGAs, ICMs, etc)
    - Work with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), Google Earth, ESRI/ArcGIS Suite, including ArcMap for creating, editing, and processing geospatial data and ArcCatalog for data maintenance and metadata creation. 
    - Provide and create metadata to support structure observations..
    - Support development of human geography models. Build SOPs on use of ERDAS or ArcGIS to build/maintain models. Models should include but not limited to climatology, mobility mapping, terrain analysis, counter-narcotics, urbanization, flooding/natural disasters, social vulnerabilities, ethnicity and tribal characterizations, environment-food, water-security, violence, and other areas of human geography interests.
    - Collaboration with analysts, social scientists, SMEs, stakeholders, throughout the community to facilitate social-cultural analysis into GEOINT and multi-INT analysis. and educational outreach initiatives for onsite personnel, and stakeholders.

     Activity Based Intelligence (ABI) InstructorLocation: Springfield, VA Compensation: Competitive hourly pay plus benefits

    Work Requirements: Delivers in-resident and distance learning instructional programs in accordance with course requirements. Uses instructional methods such as, guided discussions, lectures, demonstrations, small group exercises, seminars, workshops, and laboratories. Uses Instructional technology, including but not limited to Blackboard. Conducts assessment strategy in accordance with the course design, including instructor observation, testing, and grading. Provides formal and informal student feedback. Provides subject matter expertise throughout the curriculum creation process, including content review and feedback to development staff. Relevant instructional experience includes, but is not limited to, experience developing and delivering technical training and educational courses in academic, commercial, government, or industrial organizations. Relevant subject matter expertise (SME) experience includes, but is not limited to, experience in technical field as described below.


    · The candidate will need to be able to convey the benefits of the Activity Based Intelligence (ABI) methodology.
    · Successful candidates will focus on the development of new exploitation systems and analytic methodologies in a high tempo, team based environment.
    · Candidates must have familiarity with innovative special project ABI capabilities, and ABI methods for conducting counterterrorism operations.
    · Successful candidate will be a creative, out-of-the-box systems thinker who can develop new ways of using multi-INT data and work with analysts, instructors and students to produce new ABI products.
    · Candidate should have a familiarity in data integration of multi-INT sources, ie: SIGINT, OPIR.
    · Provide systems and data checkout, classroom set up, material handling, and other administrative support.
    · Assist customer decision makers in preparing ABI course materials, student exercises, and creating intelligence briefings on multi-source ABI.
    · Provide on-site training of ABI methodology and web capabilities for multiple customer sites.
    · Documenting the tradecraft to produce new products and implements this in teaching/training.
    · Understands and documents user needs and tradecraft issues for development team.
    · Experienced analyst with a geospatial analyst/GIS/all-source background; experience with producing intelligence for customers.
    · Proficient in utilizing advanced geospatial and all-source intelligence applications to support analytical efforts and product development: ArcGIS, Analyst Notebook, Palantir, M3, Pathfinder, RemoteView, NES, and Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word).
    · Demonstrate working knowledge of the principle of guided exercises.
    · Proven working knowledge of the principles of learning styles, student feedback, and immediacy behaviors affect student satisfaction.
    · Working knowledge of multiple communication strategies and student-center environment.
    · Proven working knowledge of agencies within the IC and the Department of Defense (DoD).
    · Proven working knowledge of Tasking, Collection, Processing, Exploitation and Dissemination (TCPED).
    · Proven excellent writing and briefing skills including command of grammar and business communications style, i.e. the ability to convey ideas clearly and concisely.
    · Knowledge of Instructional Systems Design (ISD) as well as knowledge in the development and implementation of course materials, and how to make those course materials ISD compliant.
    · Proven experience with MS Office and associated software tools, e.g., Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.

    Preferred Skills and Education:
    · Experience in creating presentations, briefings, and geospatial products for demonstration purposes.
    · Experience with the testing, development of curriculum, creating presentation and briefings, and evaluation of new equipment/systems.
    · Experience with training in a military or Intelligence Community environment.

    Minimum Education and Experience:
    6 years work experience or equivalent experience related to the required skills section.
    Minimum Teaching Experience:
    2 years' relevant experience as an on-podium trainer/instructor for class sizes up to 20 personnel
    Minimum SME Experience:
    6 years' relevant experience

    • Possess an understanding of multiple imagery software systems, e.g. Integrated Exploitation Capability (IEC), Super Buffer Check (SBC), and Cedallion.
    • Working knowledge of a variety of imagery research databases including: NGA Softcopy Keys, National Production Workspace (NPW), Net-Centric Geospatial-Intelligence Discovery Services (NGDS) and various others.
    • Possess excellent writing and briefing skills as it relates to the communication of GEOINT.
    • Demonstrated fundamental knowledge of the principles and applications of geographic information systems, digital image processing systems, collections, and sensor phenomenology.
    • Documented experience in multiple military- or intelligence-related identification and analysis work areas.
